Seampal ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Seampal platform at seampal.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services. By using Seampal, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

When you create an account or use our services, you may provide us with:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you sign up.
  • Business information: Your business name, phone number, address, tax ID, logo, and other details you add to your profile.
  • Client records: Names, phone numbers, measurements, order details, and other information you store about your clients.
  • Financial records: Invoice details (line items, discounts, tax calculations), receipt and payment records, expense data, and other financial information you enter to track your business.
  • Vendor information: Names, contact details, and other information about your suppliers and vendors.
  • Notes and tasks: Notes, to-do items, and associated reminders you create within the platform.
  • Public profile content: Business descriptions, portfolio gallery images, services offered, social media links, and custom URLs you configure for your public business profile.
  • Images: Photos you upload related to orders, styles, your public profile gallery, business logo, or other aspects of your business.
  • Notification preferences: Your chosen notification channels (email, in-app, both, or none) for different types of alerts.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use Seampal, we may automatically collect:

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the platform.
  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
  • Log data: IP address, access times, and referring URLs.
  • Public profile analytics: If you publish a public business profile, we collect anonymized data about profile views and visitor engagement.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Seampal platform.
  • Create and manage your account.
  • Store and organize your client records, measurements, orders, invoices, payments, and expenses.
  • Process your subscription billing and manage your plan.
  • Send you important service-related notifications (e.g., account verification, security alerts, order deadlines, invoice reminders, fitting schedules).
  • Send invoice and receipt emails to your clients on your behalf when you use those features.
  • Generate PDF documents for invoices and receipts.
  • Host and display your public business profile, shared invoices, and measurement request forms.
  • Track and display analytics for your public profile (e.g., profile views).
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve our product and user experience.
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries.
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.

3. How We Store and Protect Your Information

3.1 Data Storage

Your data is stored using the following services:

  • Supabase: We use Supabase for authentication and as our primary database. Supabase provides secure, encrypted data storage and handles user authentication (including email/password sign-in and session management).
  • Cloudinary: Images you upload (such as order photos, style references, public profile gallery images, and business logos) are stored on Cloudinary, a cloud-based media management service.
  • Paystack: Subscription billing and payment data is processed and stored by Paystack, a third-party payment gateway. Seampal does not directly store your financial or banking details.

3.2 Security Measures

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Secure authentication and session management via Supabase Auth.
  • Access controls ensuring your data is only accessible to you through your authenticated account.
  • Regular review of our data handling practices.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Seampal:

  • Supabase: Authentication and database services. Supabase Privacy Policy

  • Paystack: Subscription billing and payment processing for Seampal's paid plans. When you subscribe to a paid plan, Paystack processes your payment information directly. Seampal does not store your card details or banking credentials. Paystack Privacy Policy
  • Email service providers: We use third-party email delivery services to send transactional emails on behalf of the platform, including account verification, password resets, invoice and receipt emails, and notification alerts.

These third-party services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Seampal may use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Essential cookies: Required for authentication, session management, and core platform functionality.

You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect your ability to use Seampal.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: With trusted third-party services (listed in Section 4) that help us operate the platform, subject to their privacy policies.
  • User-initiated public sharing: Certain features allow you to make information publicly accessible, including your public business profile, shared invoices, and measurement request forms. When you publish or share content publicly, it can be viewed by anyone with the link. You control what content is made public and can remove it at any time.
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Safety and protection: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Seampal, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, unless we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

Client records, measurements, orders, invoices, receipts, payment records, expense data, notes, vendor information, and public profile content that you create within Seampal are retained as part of your account and are deleted when your account is deleted. Any publicly shared content (such as your public profile or shared invoices) will also be removed upon account deletion.

Subscription billing and payment records processed by Paystack are subject to Paystack's own data retention policies and may be retained independently by Paystack for legal and regulatory compliance purposes.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data and account.
  • Data portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format. You may also use the built-in export features available within the platform.
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

9. Children's Privacy

Seampal is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own. By using Seampal, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. We take appropriate measures to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, providing additional notice (such as an in-app notification or email).
